This past weekend there was a vegan event in Yoyogi Park. This is an annual event, but it was my first time going there. There were around 100 different stalls. Everything from coffee to food to stage talk shows and organic cotton clothes were to be found. Throughout the year there are a lot of different food markets/festivals in Yoyogi Park.
It was very nice to see so many different vegan restaurants and cafes. Japan isn’t the easiest country living in when you are a vegan. The Japanese food usually contains eggs, fish, fish stock, meat or meat stock.
There were a lot of different food stalls. There were cookies, bread, vegan hamburgers, cupcakes, vegan cheese, Indian food, soups and so on. Since I’m also allergic to gluten I had some restrictions to what I could try. I had been looking forward to this event and when I finally was there I had a stomach ache and didn’t feel hungry at all. I did try a delicious soy soup, a taste of vegan sushi and some vegan cheese.
It was a great event and I will absolutely go next year!
Are any of my lovely readers vegan or vegetarian? And if not, do you ever eat vegan/vegetarian food?
