As you can see by the very clear name 🙂 this is a gluten-free cafe and restaurant in Harajuku. I think they recently changed their menu to an all gluten-free menu. This is the first gluten-free restaurant I’ve been to in Japan, I’ve read about one or two others but never visited.

I must say that it feels like the Japanese are getting more aware, understanding and concerned about different diets and diet restrictions.

Since I’m allergic to gluten and also vegan (sometimes I do eat goat cheese) I knew that it would be hard to get something both vegan and gluten-free. I stopped eating cow dairy products more than 15 years ago but this day I decided to take a vegetarian pizza and just hoped that I wouldn’t feel horrible after, and I didn’t! I’m def not going to start to eat cheese but it was so good that day 😛

Do you often eat pizza?

  1. Asian countries are indeed starting to open Gluten-Free and Vegan restaurants. In the Philippines, there are already quite a few of them. I never tried eating in any of those places, I can never give up eating meat but I’m open to try it sometime.

  3. about 17 years ago I had bad health problems, I spent many of years in and out of hospitals, there I met my best friend who was allergic to gluten. Now it’s wonderful that there’s so many gluten free products available, back then it was struggle. So I can understand how you feel. You look fabulous in first photo, I love that red scarf.
