When we were in Kyoto last weekend we decided on Sunday to go to Nara over the day. Nara was actually the capital of Japan a very long time ago. It took us about 50 minutes by train to get to there from Kyoto station. The reason I wanted to go to Nara was because I had heard and seen so many wonderful pictures from Nara Park, where around 1200 tame deer lives ♥
Since fall is a very popular time to go to both Kyoto and Nara, the park was very crowded with tourists. We bought a packet of deer crackers, which you can buy everywhere in the park, and tried to feed the tame deer. The funny thing was that most of the deer were so used to tourists feeding them that they didn’t show much interest at all. Even if they weren’t mistreated, at least not what I could see, I felt sorry for them when everyone tried to feed them and disturb them all the time.
We walked around a bit, it’s a quite big park, and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors before we decided to get back to Kyoto. If you’re visiting Kyoto or Osaka and are planning to go to Nara Park over the day I would actually suggest to skip it, it wasn’t anywhere near as magical as I thought it would be!
Time for bed now, I hope you’re having a nice day or evening wherever you are in the world 🙂
